POY News

It was lovely to see a great group and catch up at our Christmas Drinks at the Ship on the Shore earlier this month. We were so busy catching up that we forgot to take any pictures.
A goodbye and huge thank you to Briana Pegado whose internship came to an end this month. She is pursuing her own social enterprise ESAF – an incredible student arts festival which will take place in Edinburgh between February 9 – March 13. We wish you the very best.

Community News

Huge well done to all the winners of the Scottish EDGE Competition round 9. This was an amazing year and it was exciting to see so many winners there. Read the roundup here. Well done to Sam Trett, Callum Murray, Sam Zawadzski and Craig Johnston (who used to be an intern here at POY.) Keep up the great work!
Sam Trett and his wonderful tipple Minus -33 have been named by the Metro as one of the top floral Gins to welcome the New Year in with, read more here.

Upcoming Opportunities

On January 11 we will be hosting Vision Day. This will be a day to reflect on you and your business to make lasting change in 2017. It will be a chance to set some concrete New Year’s resolutions with a motivational group around you. We’ll focus on finding and sustaining meaningful work, encourage you to realise your creative potential and explore what inspiration is to you, and how we can use it in the everyday. Last chance to get your earlybird tickets here before January 1.

For those of you who want to do something a little different this year, we still have some spaces available if you would like to travel and work abroad  alongside an entrepreneur as part of the Startupreneurs programme. For more information get in touch.
If you have a product that you would like to take to market, but you just don’t know where to begin the Design Council is running a 16 week support and funding programme – get your applications in by the January 10.

Reflection

Here is a nice video where Simon Sinek speaks about the paradox of Millennials in the Workplace and explains why patience is indeed a virtue.
See you soon and happy New Year. Love, Team POY
